Explore Infinity During Space Month at The Scientific Center!
Running October 4th, 2018 to November 4th, 2018.

How do rockets fly? Do aliens exist? How do scientists explore distant planets? Answer these questions and more in our hands-on workshops at Discovery Place. For details please see below:

  • Make it & Take It: create your own Galaxy Dough, a jar full of stars and many more. The best part is you get to keep what you create!
  • Design and Launch Your Rocket: Explore how engineers have developed rockets over the years, and learn about the principles of rocketry. Construct and launch a rocket!
  • Do Aliens Exist?: We explore exoplanets in nearby galaxies and try to answer the old age question: are we alone in the universe?
  • My Solar System: Introduce children to the study of astronomy and the tools scientists use to explore space. Children will perform activities to understand the life cycle of a star and the difference between stars and planets.
  • Explore the Universe: Learn how astronomers use light from distant objects to make observations about the universe and how they use tools to find and observe craters. Learn more about the geologic processes on planets, moons, and asteroids and other worlds.
