SUMMER CAMP

The Scientific Summer Camp is a multidisciplinary educational camp geared towards kids from 6 to 12 years of age. Content will be delivered to campers in both English and Arabic. Each week includes the following sessions:

  • Science classes – Fun, hands-on activities based on a weekly science focus topic.
  • Arts and crafts – Campers learn art history and practice techniques working with a variety of different media.
  • STEAM challenges – Campers are encouraged to question, explore, research, discover, build, and test prototypes in an effort to develop the 4C’s: creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
  • Sports and recreational activities
  • Visits to the center’s attractions – Including the IMAX, Aquarium.
  • Up-close encounters – With the center’s ambassador animals.


Week 1
Planet Earth
June 15th – June 19th


Earth is an open book that tells us its stories, if only you learn its language! We study the basic concepts of geology using fun and interactive activities, explode our own volcanos, as well as learn all about weather, climate and natural disasters! We end the week with “Thursday funday” where kids get to participate in extra special activities and dress up for a fun and friendly competition. Let’s go on a journey to the center of the earth!

Week 2
The Animal World
June 22nd – June 26th


The Animal World is a super fun time for kids to learn about the coolest animals on the planet! Throughout the week, campers will explore amazing creatures like lions, elephants, and whales, discovering what makes them special and powerful. There will be exciting activities like crafting crowns for their favorite animals, interactive games, and fun facts that help them understand each animal's role in nature. This week is all about celebrating the diversity of the animal kingdom and inspiring campers to appreciate and protect wildlife. Get ready for a wild adventure filled with learning and fun!

Week 3
Chemistry
June 29th - July 3rd


EXPLOSIONS! There is no fun like fun in a lab! Students explore different reactions and learn about the explosive world of chemistry. From chemical and physical changes to the states of matter and the atomic theory, students explore different concepts and learn through exploration and play in a fun spin on chemistry. We end the week with “Thursday funday” where kids get to participate in extra special activities and a fun and friendly competition.

Week 4
Engineering & Technology
July 6th – July 10th


Engineering and Technology Week is an exciting time for campers to explore the amazing world of science! During this week, campers will participate in fun activities like hands-on projects, exciting demonstrations, and interactive workshops. They'll get to build robots, create cool inventions, and solve problems like real engineers! It's a chance for campers to learn how technology shapes our lives and to spark their creativity and curiosity. With engaging games and teamwork challenges, Engineering and Technology Week inspires the next generation of inventors and problem-solvers.

Week 5
Marine Science
July 13th – July 17th


Its time to talk about exploring the ocean and learning about the amazing things that live there! From whales and sea turtles to colorful coral & coral reefs, the ocean is full of exciting discoveries. Campers will learn how the ocean works, how animals survive, and how to keep the sea healthy. It’s like being an ocean explorer, learning cool facts, and protecting the biggest, bluest part of our planet!

Week 6
Forensic Science
July 20th – July 24th


Do you want to be a real time detective? Forensic science is all about solving mysteries by using clues like fingerprints, footprints, and even tiny pieces of hair to figure out what happened. Campers will use cool tools and experiments to solve mysteries, just like in a spy movie or a mystery book. Forensic scientists get to solve puzzles, work with secret evidence, and help people figure out the truth. Every day is an adventure in uncovering mysteries!

Week 7
Dinosaurs and the Fossil Record
July 27th – July 31st


Dinosaurs and the Fossil Record Week is a super fun adventure for campers to explore the world of dinosaurs! During this week, campers can dig for "fossils," learn about different dinosaur species, and even create their own dinosaur art. There will be exciting activities like interactive games and storytelling sessions that make learning about paleontology exciting. Campers will discover how fossils are formed and what they tell us about the past. It's a great way to unleash their imagination, ask questions, and become junior paleontologists while having a blast with friends!

Week 8
Ancient Civilizations
August 3rd – August 7th


From the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, to the Colossus of Rhodes and the Great Pyramids of Giza – we explore the architecture and engineering behind some of the most astonishing creations in building activities and creative expression. We end the week with “Thursday funday” where kids get to participate in extra special activities and dress up in traditional clothing for a country of their choice for a fun and friendly competition. What better way to pave the future than to learn from the past?

Week 9
The Human Body
August 10th – August 14th


How do we think? How do we breathe? How does the heart work? Students answer all these questions and more all while getting to know the inner workings of the human body and participating in related activities, such as making models and participating in human body related challenges, our students get to do it all!

Week 10
Space
August 17th – August 21st


Space Week is an awesome time for kids to blast off into the wonders of the universe! During this week, kids can join in on fun activities like building rockets, making star maps, and learning about planets and astronauts. There will be hands-on experiments, exciting stories about space missions, and even games that help everyone explore the solar system. It’s a chance for kids to let their imaginations soar and discover the amazing things that happen in space.

SUMMER CAMP RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. The official times of the camp are 9 AM – 1 PM. Campers who have not been registered for an Early Drop Off/Late Pick Up and are seen to be arriving early/staying after camp hours will be required to pay the additional fee to enter the camp, with no refund offered if refused
  2. The reception will open promptly at 8:45 AM on camp days. If an earlier drop off time is more convenient, you can register for early drop off for an additional fee of KD 10 per week, which allows parents to drop their children off starting at 8:00 AM.
  3. Campers need to be picked up promptly at 1:00 PM at the reception by a parent or an authorized caregiver. For parents who require a later pick-up time, please sign up for our late pick-up option where campers can be picked up maximum by 2:30 PM.
  4. Please note that parents that enroll their kids in early drop off / late pick up are free to use the VIP facility to drop off/pick up their kids. If your child is not registered for early drop off / late pick up, please use the main parking lot, where you will be given 30 minutes of free parking during regular pick up and drop off times.
  5. Campers should be signed into the camp every morning at the reception by a guardian.
  6. Campers need to be picked up promptly at 1:00 PM at the reception by a guardian.
  7. All campers enrolled must be able to use the washroom facilities independently.
  8. Please send a backpack that contains an extra set of clothes, also make sure that the backpack and your children’s belongings are clearly labeled with their full name. The center will not be responsible for any lost items.
  9. Campers should bring with them a healthy lunch, snack and a water bottle. Please avoid packing nuts and nut-related food in consideration of other campers who have allergies.
  10. Campers in age group 6 - 8 will not be allowed to purchase items from any confectionary stands during camp hours.
  11. Please advise TSCK staff at the time of online registration if your child has any allergies or medical conditions for the safety of your children and others.
  12. TSCK will not be held responsible for the loss of any personal items. We encourage you not to send any valuable items with your children.
  13. Cancellations must be requested 5 working days (during working hours of 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM) prior to the start of the registered camp week. Refunds will not be given for cancellations that come after this deadline.
  14. To participate in weekly trips, please ensure that you register your child at the time of online registration as seats for the trips are limited. The deadline for the weekly trip registrations will be every Monday prior to that trip.
  15. The Scientific Center reserves the right to expel any camper if their behavior violates TSCK behavioral code or poses a threat or danger to other children. This includes but is not limited to the following behaviors: bullying, use of improper language, physical or verbal abuse, failure to follow staff instructions. In these cases, parents will be notified in case of any incident related to their child. If the behavior continues TSCK reserves the right to cancel the child’s registration without refund.
  16. By completing this registration, you attest that the registered names are the legal guardians of the child(ren), and the information provided on the registration form is accurate.
  17. For cancellations or to make any changes to bookings, please contact us on Camp@TSCK.org.kw. We will not be able to make any changes to bookings based on verbal requests.
